The moral panic over teen vaping has grown more intense almost daily for two years, but what has happened in the past month has shocked even seasoned OBServers of the space. Between the already white hot hatred of JUUL (over a variety of real and imagined sins), the early release of survey data showing that teen experimentation with vapes has increased again this year, and the outbreak of “vaping-related” lung poisonings that has so far left eight people dead and hundreds in the hospital, the country is now in the grip of full-blown vapor madness.

近3年来，对青少年抽电子烟的恐慌情绪已经日益严重，但是上个月发生的事情却真正令经验丰富的调查者都震惊。对JUUL的仇恨已到达白热化阶段（根据一系列真的或者想象的罪），早期公布的数据显示今年青少年抽电子烟的人数又有上涨，还有，突然发生的因电子烟导致的肺部中毒死亡人数已经达到了8人， 还有数百人在医院。目前整个国家都在针对电子烟的愚蠢行动中。

The news media have largely droqped the ball on the lung injury story, mainly following the CDC’s lead in bLAMIng “vaping” and “e-cigarettes.” It would be easy for a casual reader or viewer of mainstream news to believe that the injuries are caused by commercial nicotine vaping products, when in reality they appear to be caused almost exclusively by products used to dilute cannabis oil.

新闻媒体现在都很大程度上放下了肺病得故事，转而跟CDC（国家疾控中心）一起指责“Vaping”和“电子烟”。这些报道很容易让普通读者或者主流新闻读者相信这些肺病是因为商用尼古丁产品， 但是事实上，肺病主要是由于稀释大麻油引起的。
